Crewe VE Day 80 – A Tribute to Heroes, A Celebration of Community
Join us on Saturday, 10th May 2025, as Crewe Town Council commemorates the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) Day with a spectacular street party at Lyceum Square!
Step back in time with vintage music, live performances, and period dance displays, bringing the spirit of 1945 to life. Enjoy entertainment from Faye McCallum, The Rockabilly Dolls, and The Crewe’s Liners, alongside a vibrant atmosphere filled with food stalls, themed activities, and community celebrations.
Supported by Discover Crewe who have funded the purchase of 500 large poppies for display on lampposts through the town; on Nantwich Road and Grand Junction Retail Park.
Families and visitors of all ages are invited to bring their own picnic or explore the delicious treats available at Crewe Market Hall. Local groups, including the Crewe branch of the Royal British Legion, will be in attendance to honour those who served during WWII.
Additionally, on Thursday, 8th May, a Service of Remembrance will take place at Memorial Square, starting at 10:45 AM, to pay tribute to the sacrifices made for peace and freedom.
Come together, celebrate, and remember—Crewe VE Day 80 is a day of reflection, joy, and community spirit!
