Nationwide Building Society in Crewe are hosting a Digital Inclusion Learning Day, designed to empower people of all ages and abilities with the essential digital skills they need for everyday life.
Their aim is to build confidence, remove barriers, and help more people across Crewe access the opportunities that digital skills can unlock.
It’s free to join and you don’t have to be a customer. Just call 0345 266 0717 or pop into the branch to book in. You can choose which session you would like to attend (or you can attend all of them), just let them know.
The times and sessions include:
09:30 – 10:00 | What is Digital Inclusion?
A foundational introduction to digital inclusion, why it matters, who it impacts, and how it benefits individuals and communities.
10:00 – 10:30 | Getting Started
Understanding different digital devices, what they do, and key digital terminology.
10:30 – 11:00 | Setting Up Your Device
Step-by-step basics for setting up a device confidently. Including Biometrics, Wi-Fi setup, Bluetooth, and using internet browsers.
11:15 – 12:00 | Staying Safe Online
Practical safety guidance for using the internet securely. Including creating strong passwords, spotting scams, fraud awareness (Take 5 to Stop Fraud) and everyday online safety habits.
13:00 – 13:45 | Communicating Online
Helping participants connect confidently using digital tools. Including setting up and using email, messaging platforms and video calling essentials (Teams/Zoom/FaceTime).
13:45 – 14:45 | Module 6: Day-to-Day Digital Skills
Hands-on learning for everyday use of online services. Including ways to pay (contactless, digital wallets), online banking basics, online shopping, accessing essential online services.
