Visit the Crewe Heritage Centre for a fun family day out.
On Sunday, August 24th artist Francesca Chinnery will be hosting a dig for Victory workshop from 10.30am – 3pm.
Travel back to wartime Crewe and discover how families used Victory Gardens to grow their own food and add flavour to rationed meals.
In this workshop, there will be plant pot decorating and plant herbs like thyme, mint, sage or chives to take home and grow.
Plus, explore Dig for Victory posters and authentic Second World War recipes to find out how people made the most of limited ingredients.
