Free Railway 200 Exhibition Train to Visit Crewe

A travelling exhibition train marking two hundred years of the modern railway will be stopping in Crewe next week.
Inspiration is part of Railway 200, a national programme marking the anniversary of the Stockton and Darlington Railway and the beginnings of the modern rail network. Touring the country over the past year, the exhibition has already welcomed more than 45,000 visitors.
From Thursday, January 15th to Monday, January 19th, the train will be based at Crewe railway station, hosted by Avanti West Coast. Entry is free, with limited spaces available that need to be booked in advance.
Developed with the National Railway Museum, the exhibition looks at how rail has shaped Britain over the past two centuries. Inside the carriages, visitors can explore early railway innovation, try hands-on engineering challenges, and learn more about the wide range of roles that support the rail network today.
Designed to suit a broad age range, the layout combines visual displays with interactive elements. Feedback from previous stops highlights the opportunity for families and mixed-age groups to move through the exhibition at their own pace.
Tickets are free and must be booked in advance. Find out more here: https://railway200.co.uk/inspiration/
