Crewe Day Festival is Back – Here’s What to Expect
The town centre is getting ready for a fantastic day of celebration as Crewe Day Festival returns this weekend.
This Saturday 5th July, from 12pm to 6pm, the streets of Crewe will come alive with free, family-friendly entertainment, music, parades and hands-on activities. With something happening around every corner, it’s a great opportunity to celebrate the town and enjoy a brilliant day out with friends and family.
Here’s what’s in store:
Giant Puppet Parades
Catch three unmissable processions featuring giant puppets, live music and local performers. They’ll be taking place at 12pm, 2pm and 4pm, starting from Queensway and finishing in Memorial Square. The first parade sets off right at 12 noon – so make sure to arrive in good time.
Live Performances
Throughout the afternoon, Memorial Square will host a full line-up of music and dance performances from local groups and bands, including the Crewe Concert Band, Stepz School of Dance and the Swinging Woodpeckers Big Band.
Artisan Market and Community Stalls
Browse independent traders, food stalls and local organisations on Victoria Street, Market Street and Lyceum Square between 12pm and 6pm.
Funfair Rides
Stanworths Funfair returns to Prince Albert Street with traditional rides and games for all ages (charges apply).
Creative Activities
Families can get hands-on with crafts and workshops at the Crewe Creates Art Space on Victoria Street. From general craft activities to designing a poster for the chance to win tickets to Annie at the Lyceum Theatre, there’s plenty to get stuck into.
Crewe Heritage Centre
Open all weekend from 10am to 4.30pm, the Heritage Centre will host its usual mix of exhibitions, rail displays and mini train rides – plus a special visit from Engine 45212 on the Saturday.
With walkabout entertainment, community groups and surprises throughout the day, this year’s Crewe Day promises to be one of the biggest yet.
Plan Your Visit: Whether you’re bringing the kids or meeting up with friends, come dressed for the weather and make the most of what’s set to be a fantastic day for the town.
